Privacy Policy

Nuul ("we", "our", "us") is a sleep-sounds app published by Nuul Labs. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, what we never touch, and how to contact us. We aim for the smallest possible privacy footprint — Nuul works almost entirely on your device.

1. What we collect

• Anonymous usage events. We use PostHog to understand which features are used (e.g. "playback started", "alarm scheduled"). These events do not include your name, email, or contacts. They are tied to a random install ID, not to your identity.
• Subscription and purchase records. RevenueCat manages your Premium status. When you buy a subscription or lifetime unlock through the App Store or Google Play, the store sends RevenueCat a receipt so we know you are entitled to Premium features.
• On-device app data. Saved mixes, alarms, listening session history and preferences are stored locally on your phone. They never leave your device unless you opt in to Apple Health sync (iOS only).
• Apple Health data (iOS, opt-in). If you grant the permission, Nuul may write overnight listening sessions as Asleep samples to Apple Health and read your existing sleep history to display context. We do not transmit this data anywhere.
• Email correspondence. If you write to support@getnuul.com we keep your message and our reply for as long as needed to handle your request.

2. What we never collect

Name. Email address (unless you write to us). Location. Contacts. Photos. Microphone audio. Browsing behaviour. Advertising identifiers. Cross-app tracking. We do not run third-party ads inside the app and we do not share your data with advertisers.

3. Third parties

Nuul uses these processors to operate the app:

• PostHog — anonymous product analytics.
• RevenueCat — subscription receipt validation.
• Supabase — sound catalog hosting (no user data).
• Apple and Google — in-app purchase processing (you transact with the store, not us).

4. Children's privacy

Nuul is rated 4+ and is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us such information, write to support@getnuul.com and we will delete it.

5. Your rights

You can request access to or deletion of any personal information we hold about you (in practice, only an anonymous install ID and any past email correspondence). Email support@getnuul.com and we will respond within 30 days. To opt out of analytics, delete the app — local install ID is dropped on uninstall. EU and California residents have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively, which we honour on request.

6. Data retention

Anonymous analytics events are retained for 90 days then aggregated. Purchase receipts are retained per the underlying store's policy (Apple / Google). Local app data lives only on your device — uninstalling the app removes it. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to support you.

7. Security

All network traffic is encrypted in transit using TLS. We do not store passwords (Nuul does not require an account).

8. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. For substantial changes affecting your data, we will surface a notice inside the app on next launch.
